School Closure: As we deal with this unprecedented, nationwide outbreak of COVID19, the school site, including the playground, is closed to students and the public, 24 hours/day, every day, until March 31. The goal is germ containment. Please do not use this time to socialize. Try to stay 6 feet away from everyone but immediate family in your own household.
Breakfast and Lunch: We want to ensure San Lucas students still receive their free breakfast and lunch meals. You may stop by the front of the school to pick up lunch and the following day's breakfast -- one pick up per student -- on regularly scheduled school days between 11:30am-12:30pm, beginning Monday, March 16. Please contact the school office if you have questions.
Learning Plan: Regarding missed school lessons, nothing is more important to us than our students' education. We are researching best practices and options on providing everyone's free and appropriate public education. More details will be announced.
Social Media: Please visit the school Twitter page for updates. We will be expanding our social media to include Facebook and Instagram in the coming weeks.
Student health is a priority! Do not send your children to school is they have had a fever or vomited in the past 24 hours. Please observe all recommended hand washing guidelines.
You may visit the Monterey County Office of Education's dedicated webpage for all the updates to schools on coronavirus (COVID-19).
School Closure: The Monterey County Board of Supervisors has ordered a countywide shelter in place until April 8. Therefore, San Lucas School will remain closed until April 8. Spring Break begins April 9. We hope for school to resume on April 20, but COVID-19 information changes on a daily basis. California Governor Newsom has already announced he does not expect schools to reopen this school year. The goal is germ containment. Please do not use this time to socialize. Try to stay 6 feet away from everyone but immediate family in your own household.
Breakfast and Lunch: Beginning Monday, March 23, the South Monterey County Joint Union High School District will begin providing meals to all San Lucas children up to age 18. You may stop by the front of the school to pick up breakfast and lunch -- one breakfast and one lunch per student -- starting at 8:30am and going until 11:30am, or supplies run out. Children MUST BE PRESENT to pick up the meal. Please contact the school office if you have questions.
Learning Plan: Thank you to all families who picked up work packets and to all students who have checked in online. Nothing is more important to us than our students' education. We are researching best practices and options on providing everyone's free and appropriate public education. Please be patient with your teachers, as they figure out their distance learning options. We hope that all students will begin receiving lessons by March 23. In the meantime, students with Internet access may visit iReady Math
Social Media: Please visit the school Twitter page and the school Facebook page for updates. You must have a Facebook account in order to follow the school account.
